How To Use Email Marketing For Your Business

Artovo How to Use Email Marketing For Your Business Blog

Email Marketing is a great way to stay present with your customers and make sure they don’t forget about you and your great products - but is often overlooked by smaller businesses!

So what is email marketing?

Email marketing is a form of direct digital marketing that uses email to promote your business and the products you create. Email marketing can be used to send informative emails to previous customers or those that have already subscribed to your mailing list!

How to build your email subscriber list.

If you have your own website, there is usually an opportunity to add an email subscriber box somewhere on your page. This is a great way to get both current and potential customers to join your mailing list - especially if you offer them some incentive for joining, such as 10% off their first order.

Remind your customers through social media that they can see all the latest offers and promotions by signing up for your mailer list.

But remember, any email address added to your email marketing list must be given with the full consent of the customer to remain within the rules of GDPR.

What to offer in your emails

One of the most common reasons a customer will subscribe to your email is if you offer them something of value, or information they will not get elsewhere. So it’s very important to make sure you aren’t sending too many pointless emails, that the customer gains nothing from.

43% of UK consumers will unsubscribe from a mailer list if they receive too many irrelevant emails.

Make sure that you are offering your customers high quality content that is relevant to them. This can include upcoming sales, information on new or current products, giveaways, and much more.

Your email subscribers should be the first to hear about all the new and important things happening with your business, as part of the lure of signing up.

Using Automated emails

Automated emails are a great resource for anyone who has just signed up for your mailing list or is a new customer.

You can schedule automated emails to go out to customers over a period of time once they have signed up, to let them know about important information. For example, you can create a welcome email to go out to customers once they have signed up, with a follow-up email to be sent out a week later which provides resources or information about your products.

This is a great way to help anyone using your site get up to speed!

What are the best Email Marketing platforms to use?

There are lots of marketing platforms out there that specialise in email marketing, so here are a few that we like!

Mailchimp Logo

MailChimp

MailChimp is a great email marketing platform that offers easy to use, drag and drop elements to create emails, along with an easy and intuitive user interface. Mailchimp offers a free plan for anyone who has under 2,000 contacts in their subscriber list, so it’s a great place to start!

Hubspot Logo

Hubspot

Hubspot is a great all-rounder marketing suite and offers CRM, social media, blogs and of course, email marketing. They also have a great range of helpful resources for their users - however, they don’t offer a free plan to their customers.

Mailerlite Logo

MailerLite

Another easy to use email marketing platform with a drag and drop email creator and a range of free templates to use. Mailerlite offers a free plan for users with up to 1,000 contacts!

Klaviyo Logo

Klaviyo

Klaviyo is another of our favourites, offering a great range of features for small businesses, from one click integrations, real time tracking, sign up forms and facebook advertising to name a few. They have a very basic free version for up to ten contacts, then monthly paid plans up from there.

Moosend Logo

Moosend

This marketing platform is great for those that don’t want to send many mailers, as you can either pay by number of contacts or how many mailers you send it. They also have a free plan for up to 1000 contacts! It’s user friendly, with easy to customise templates but has fewer integrations available.

Drip Logo

Drip

Drip offers easy-to-use designs and great customer service, however it doesn’t have any free plans for low contact numbers and also doesn’t offer drag and drop mailer designing. Could be a little tricky for first-time email marketers!
